Hammes Bookstore at Notre Dame prepares for home opener

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- The Hammes Book Store is ready for this Saturday's Fighting Irish home opener against Purdue.

The book store is fully stocked with anything and everything Irish.

More than 20,000 people are expected to come through the bookstore to pick up some Irish swag.

The bookstore is unloading about three to four hundred boxes of Notre Dame apparel each day.

That is all in preparation for the big game.

According to the director of retail operations, the staff is just as excited as fans.

""This is a lot of fun! Actually it's hard to keep people under control as we get into this time of year because we get so excited about that many customers and that many guests coming to campus to enjoy what we have to offer here," Keith Kirkpatrick said.

The on campus bookstore will be open till midnight on Friday. It will re-open again early on Saturday morning at 8 a.m.
