Heartland Gourmet recalls dairy-free products due to milk contamination

Some dairy-free baking mixes are being recalled because they might contain milk.


Heartland Gourmet is voluntarily recalling some of its pizza and cookie mixes that are labeled dairy-free and gluten-free.


The recall cites a temporary breakdown in the company's packing process that led to milk contamination.


An investigation is ongoing.


Milk is one of the most common food allergens. Exposure to it can cause hives, wheezing and vomiting in those who are allergic.
