Rain arrives by Friday morning
After reaching 59 degrees on Christmas Day -- which is the 2nd-warmest temperature ever for Christmas in South Bend -- we are heading for that same temp on Thursday. It will be cloudy, but at least we'll be dry.
A cold front will send highs into the mid-40s Friday with afternoon sunshine. The 50s come storming back both Saturday and Sunday with temps flirting with 60 on Sunday. That warmth will be accompanied by a strong storm system set to bring plenty of rain Saturday evening thru Sunday evening.
As much colder air pours into the region, some snow showers are possible Sunday night thru Tuesday.
Tonight: Mostly cloudy with patchy fog. Low of 45.
Thursday: Mostly cloudy. High of 59.
Friday: AM clouds; PM sunshine. High of 44.
Saturday: Increasing cloud cover. High of 53.
