We’re getting a taste of the heat today, with highs climbing into the 90s and the heat index soaring into the triple digits. While winds are breezy, they’re offering little to no relief. This is just the beginning of the heat wave.
Michiana remains under a Heat Advisory through the day, and an Extreme Heat Watch is issued from Sunday through Tuesday. Don’t count on much relief overnight —lows will struggle to drop below 75 degrees, and we could see several record-warm low temperatures over the next few nights.
Be sure to stay hydrated, wear light clothing, and avoid prolonged time in the heat to reduce your risk of heat-related illness.
Temperatures are expected to cool slightly by midweek, along with a chance for showers and thunderstorms returning to the forecast.
