House passes bill banning use of government benefits at strip clubs

Welfare recipients who are handing out dollar bills to strippers may want to make sure their cash is not coming from the government.

The House of Representatives passed legislation last week that would require states to ban access to government benefits at strip clubs, casinos and liquor stores.

The move follows reports that benefit recipients were swiping their electronic cards at ATMs in clubs, liquor stores and even on cruise ships.
