How Michiana is feeling about aliens from space
SOUTH BEND, Ind - Congress held a formal hearing recently where pilots testified under oath, they’ve seen objects in the sky that may resemble things like UFO’S, but with issues like inflation, rising interest rates, and the overall cost of living here on earth, some people here in Michiana say there are more pressing issues to deal with.
Even though this was not a full confirmation of the existence of aliens, the news was met with a yawn on social media.
While UFO videos from the U.S. military and talks of alien life forms do get clicks online, a more pressing question for some people, “are those aliens going to help me pay my bills?”
“I think we have bigger problems today, more like car payments, apartment bills and what not, so I feel like we're not as worried about it,” said Jeanie Schascheck, a resident of South Bend.
“Yeah, so the aliens are not a big issue, cause I have to like find a job, like I would be in college five years and it's really stressful out here,” said Rahul Edara, a student at Notre Dame.
Right now, 45 million Americans are dealing with student loan debt, nearly double the populations of Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan combined.
“I mean I have bills to pay, I have a student loan that I'm going to need to pay off, I mean if there are aliens, I guess I'm going to care if they are going to help me pay off these bills,” said Isabel Hojnacki, a resident of South Bend.
