Husband accused of murdering wife in Elkhart home

Police arrested Matthew Thompson and charged him with the murder of his wife, Ciarra Thompson.

Investigators found the woman dead inside the couple's home on Saturday, and they say she had apparently been beaten and stabbed to death.

They say when they arrived on the scene it looked like someone had tried to clean up blood in the kitchen and living room.

According to investigators Thompson at first claimed he cleaned up the blood but didn't hurt his wife, then later admitted to punching her and shaking her the day before.
