SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A local ice cream shop opened its doors for the first time in its new location on Monday.
Whistle Stop, formerly found in the Commerce Center building, is now located right across from Howard Park on South St. Louis Boulevard.
According to shop co-owners, Spenser and Rachael Bainter, Whistle Stop will be providing 12 flavors of ice cream to start, but plans to roll out up to 20 as a part of a revolving menu that also features dairy and gluten-free options.
“So, we expect a lot of people coming out just to check us out, and a lot of customers from the old spot that we got to know that want to see what the new place is like,” said Spenser Bainter.
The shop is open from 12:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
