BRIDGMAN, Mich. - An Illinois man drowned at Warren Dunes State Park on Sunday, August 13, according to the Baroda-Lake Township Police Department.
Police identified the victim as 38-year-old Luis Sifuentes of Bensenville.
Water rescuers arrived at the park just after 4 p.m. for the incident.
A second victim was pulled out and given CPR.
Sifuentes was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials say the victims were outside the swimming area when the incident took place.
Waves were around two to three feet during the rescue.
Crews cleared the scene by 6 p.m.

Witnesses and videos show the flag was waving green, at the time of the incident, with waves reaching two to three feet.
Dave Benjamin with the Great Lakes Surf Rescue Project says this is the 23rd drowning in Lake Michigan this summer which is 26 percent less than this time last year.
He believes every beach should have a lifeguard on duty and shares more information on how to stay safe in the lake this summer on his website.
