UPDATE: Suspect in custody after shooting two officers in Beech Grove

UPDATE: According to the Indiana State Police 47-year-old Kenneth Johnson is now in custody after shooting two officers in Beech Grove. 

He was apprehended by the IMPD Swat team. 

ORGINAL STORY: BEECH GROVE, Ind. -- The Indiana State Police have issued a Blue Alert following an investigation of 47-year-old Kenneth Johnson for the involvement of injuries made to law enforcement officers.

The two officers are being treated at Eskenazi Hospital. Their conditions are unknown.

The initial incident happened in the 100 block of Diplomat Court.

Johnson is described as a black male, six feet tall, 165 pounds, brown hair with brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a blue shirt and blue pants.

The suspect’s last known location was in Beech Grove, Indiana which is southeast of downtown Indianapolis and was last seen on Monday, Feb. 16, at 6 p.m.

Johnson is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Officers are asking residents not to approach Johnson if seen and to contact 911 or Indiana State Police Indianapolis at 317-899-8577.
