Indiana Conservation Officers, Porter firefighters help Canada goose frozen in sand along Lake Michigan

Indiana Conservation Officers and Porter Volunteer Firefighters helped a Canada goose that was frozen in wet sand on the edge of Lake Michigan Monday, according to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

The goose was originally found by bystanders at Indiana Dunes State Park. The bystanders tried to rescue the bird before calling in reinforcement.

After the goose was rescued, it was taken to a local licensed wildlife rehabilitation and veterinarian's facility for treatment.
