Indiana doctor arrested in Nebraska murder

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- An Indiana doctor is facing charges for the deaths of a Nebraska doctor and his family.

Monday, officers searched Anthony Joseph Garcia's Terre Haute home just hours after he was arrested during a traffic stop.

The murders happened nearly five years ago while police say Garcia was working in Omaha and was fired by one of the murder victims.

Since then, the city has been on edge.

"These cases put Omaha neighborhoods and the Creighton University medical staff on alert fort the last five years," said Police Chief Todd Schmaderer. "Tonight you can be confident the Omaha Police Department never forgot about this case."

Police arrested Garcia for the deaths of a doctor and his wife and believe he may be a suspect in the deaths of two others, including the son of another former superior.
