SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Indiana Latino Institute is putting on their 10th Annual Education Summit and College Career Fair.
It is an opportunity for every family in Indiana in the Latino community!
The event is Saturday November 6th from 10a.m. to 12:30p.m. It is for high school students and parents.
It features workshops about financial aid, college application process, a college student panel plus a college and career fair with over 25 colleges and businesses.
Registering for the event gives students the chance to win a free laptop, iPad, or gift card.
Federico Rodriguez with SBCS explains how important this is for parents in the community as well.
“It is so important because it is able to bridge the gap between what there is for the current language right,” says Rodriguez. “So, a lot of these workshops will be available in Spanish, and so it's going to give those parents that ability to freely communicate that option to what is going on and how can I best help my child.”
