INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Jason Brown, the man accused of killing Southport police lieutenant Aaron Allan, could face the death penalty.
The Marion County Prosecutor announced Thursday his office will seek the death penalty, as the state allows him to do whenever an officer is murdered in the line of duty.
Police say Brown, 28, shot Lt. Allan multiple times at the scene of a car crash on July 27. Lt. Allan was rushed to the hospital where he later died.
Brown's trial is scheduled to begin in February 2018.
