ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- Indiana State Police personnel gathered at the Toll Road Post in Bristol on Wednesday for a memorial service to honor and remember troopers who have died in the line of duty.
Everyone in attendance for the service took moments of silence and shared stories of the men and women who gave their lives while on the job, serving their communities.
“It’s just a reminder of how fragile life is and one of the inherent things that we all face as the men and women who wear uniform, not only in Indiana, but across the country,” said Sgt. Ted Bohner, Indiana State Police.
The month of May is when state troopers visit the gravesites of fallen colleagues and place flags to honor their service and sacrifice.
