Indiana State Police K-9s receive new safety equipment

LOWELL, Ind.--Indiana State Police K-9s have received some new safety equipment.

K-9 Rogue has received a donated bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a nonprofit organization.

Vested Interest in K9s donated the vest, which was embroidered with “In memory of K9 Ike, Vancouver, WA Police Department.”

The cost of one protective vest for a law enforcement K-9 is $950, according to Indiana State Police.

Vested Interest in K9s is based in Massachusetts and has donated over 3,500 U.S. made and custom fitted vests in 50 states.

Forty-five other Indiana State Police K-9 teams received pet tracking technology, which handlers use to keep their K-9 partners safe.
