Indianapolis roadway shootings are tallying up

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The Indiana State Police want to warn motorist to be patient and careful while traveling this holiday weekend as 30 shootings on Indianapolis interstates have already been investigated in 2021.

Police have determined a majority of these roadway shootings were induced by road rage.

All drivers are urged to call 911 while witnessing reckless driving or road rage to avoid confrontation.

Drivers are encouraged to stay vigilant while gathering information on suspected vehicles to help police identify and track down problem drivers.

Another option is to remain calm and create space between your vehicle and problem drivers to avoid an accident or induce road rage.

Remember, the Indiana Hands Free Law allows drivers to use a cell phone to report an emergency to 911.
