ISP investigating a Wabash County police involved shooting

WABASH COUNTY, Ind. – Indiana State Police are investigating a police involved shooting that left a North Manchester, Ind. man dead.

On March 6th, a North Manchester Police Officer, Parker Stouffer, initiated a traffic stop on a pickup truck for failure of properly signaling a turn.

The driver, Michael Kline, stopped his truck in a nearby business parking lot.

According to ISP, the 40-year-old got out of his truck and pointed a nine millimeter handgun at the officer.

Officer Stouffer allegedly fired shots at Kline.

Though paramedics and police attempted life saving measures, Kline died from a gunshot wound.

Officials said that officers found approximately 10 grams of methamphetamine, fives grams of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia upon inventory of the truck.

ISP are investigating this case at the request of North Manchester Police Department.
