SOUTH BEND, Ind. – A paper-mâché sculpture created by the IUSB Arts Club in South Bend broke a Guinness world record.
The project began after Martin’s Super Markets gave the club outdated comment cards and challenged them to build the sculpture.
The sculpture was made using only paper and over 60 gallons of wheat paste glue.
“When we brought it to the club we told them either way it’s going to happen. It’s too good of an opportunity for our community. We have to make this happen some way. Everyone in the club was about it, we all voted, it was unanimous we were going to do it,” said Kolton Sizer, Senior Art Major,
Alongside this project, Martin’s plans on donating twenty-five thousand dollars’ worth of food to the food bank of Northern Indiana.
