BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- Community leaders from St. Joe, Benton Harbor and Benton Township gave a big thanks to legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus.
They awarded him with the harbor shores trophy and keys to all three respective cities.
Nicklaus designed the course. He talked about the struggles and rewards of transforming it from an industrial wasteland.
"We’ve taken a piece of property, converted it into a golf course, turned it into a development and the community has really been helped,” said Nicklaus.
Leaders say Harbor Shores will bring more than $5 million in developments to Benton Harbor.
