MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The Bethel Pilots have announced a new Athletic Director, Jason Lewkowicz, who will begin his tenure on July 1. 

Lewkowicz has served at many different universities as a resident director, Director of Residence Life, Head Coach of Men's and Women's Cross County and Track and Field, and Senior Associate Director of Athletics. 

His most recent position has been the Director of Philanthropy at Givens Communities in Asheville, N.C., since July 2024.

"It is a privilege and honor to be named the next athletic director at Bethel University,” Lewkowicz says. "I am excited to join in the important work being done there and to serve our coaches and staff by leading an athletic department that is Christ-centered, relationally driven and competitively excellent".

Lewkowicz had a key role at Montreat College, helping oversee the athletic department as Senior Associate Director from 2022-2024. This included spiritual development, fundraising, compliance, staff onboarding and long-range planning. He also had the opportunity to mentor and develop coaches within the athletic department.

He served as the Director of Men’s & Women’s Cross Country/Track and Field at Montreat, providing leadership for all aspects of the program. 

Lewkowicz is a two-time AAC Coach of Character award winner, has received 11 Coach/Staff of the year awards and his teams have achieved 10 team championships, along with many other accolades. 

He will replace Tony Natali, who has been the Athletic Director of Bethel University for six years. Natali will be staying on as a consultant and advisor to aid the transition over the 2025-2026 school year.
