Judge orders kidnapping suspect to undergo mental health evaluation

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The woman accused of abducting a 1-year-old child last week has been ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation.

Iyesha Catherine Gibbs, 19, was arraigned on a charge of kidnapping-child enticement Monday, according to WZZM.

During the hearing, the judge ordered a mental evaluation before she can be released on bond.

Gibbs was babysitting 1-year-old Miquis Jenkins on August 1 in Grand Rapids when she left with the child around 1 p.m. without permission, according to police.

An AMBER Alert was issued around 11 a.m. on August 2.

Around 3 p.m. she was located in Benton Harbor with Jenkins.
