Elkhart County Parks ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- Elkhart County Parks calls on young nature enthusiasts to celebrate National Junior Ranger Day with a special hands-on outdoor adventure called Junior Naturalist Day on April 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Ox Bow County Park.
Designed for children ages 8–10, this engaging program offers a fun and educational opportunity to explore the wonders of the natural world. Participants will join a park naturalist to discover fascinating facts about birds, reptiles, and amphibians while gaining a deeper appreciation for local ecosystems. The program includes a guided nature walk through the scenic landscapes of Ox Bow, where students will observe native flora and fauna up close. After a morning of exploration and discovery, lunch will be provided for all registered participants.
The event will take place at the Ox Bow Haus Shelter within the park. The cost is $5 per child, and advance registration is required by April 10.
