Around 7:39 p.m. on September 15, deputies and officers with Michigan State Police responded to a crash near the area of Pine Lake Street and Anderson Road.

While officers were on their way to the scene, witnesses reported to police that the driver of a vehicle involved in the crash ran from the scene into a large cornfield, according to the sheriff’s office.

During the investigation, police also learned that the vehicle involved in the crash may have been stolen from Berrien County, reports said.
