K9 Kuno receives body armor from Vested Interest in K9s

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. -- Vested Interest in K9s Inc donated a bullet and stab protective vest to Van Buren County Sheriff's Office K9 Kuno.

The sheriff's office was notified in January Kuno would receive the vest. It arrived in March.

Kuno's vest is sponsored by Jim and Stephanie Balch of Battle Creek, Michigan and was embroidered with "This gift of protection provided by the Balch Family."

Vested Interest in K9s has donated over 3,200 protective vests to departments in all 50 states.

A donation for one protective vest is $950. It is valued at between $1,744 and $2,283, has a 5-year warranty and weighs approximately 4 to 5 pounds.
