Keeping safe on the road in the spring

With winter in the rear view mirror it may be easy to forget about driving risks in the spring.

Among the things you should check off before you head out on rainy days like Thursday, are your lights, tires, and washer fluid.

According to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration, rain causes more fatal accidents than snow in 39 out of 50 states.

One reason for that is going into a skid.

To regain control in a skid, the American Automobile Association recommends avoiding slamming on the brakes and steering your wheel in the direction you want the front of the vehicle to go.
