Kroc Center members and workers respond to recent violence

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend police still haven't made any arrests connected to Monday’s shooting on the city's west side.

Decarlos Lester, 21, and 18-year-old Joshua Wardlow were shot on Laurel Street only feet away from the Kroc Center.

Members and workers at the brand new state-of-the-art center say they're not too rattled by the shooting.

In fact, the center said it set up shop in that area on purpose.

"This is exactly where we wanted the center,” said Gladys Muhammad. “In a neighborhood where we could have some impact upon them to change their lives.”

We're told more officers will be patrolling the area to make their presence known.
