KROC Fest 2023 hosts back-to-school fun for the community

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The KROC Center held its annual back-to-school celebration for the community featuring kids' haircuts, a cookout and an iridescent color run.

Held on Saturday, August 5, the event was hailed as a success.

Tim Bayless, the community engagement coordinator of the KROC Center said, "hundreds of people showed up and the community is still pouring in."

This free event offered opportunities to the community, even if they weren't members of the KROC Center. The KROC Center aimed to create a memorable end-of-summer event for kids in anticipation of the school year.

KROC Fest 2023, in partnership with the Portage Township Trustee Office, hosted a uniform giveaway.

"It was kind of like a conversation between the township and the family resource center here at the KROC Center," said Jason Critchlow, trustee of Portage Township. "As we serve people that are meeting moments of financial crisis, we’re always looking for ways to broaden our impact and meet people where they are."
