SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- La Casa de Amistad held a Tianguis de los Ninos, as part of their summer camp.

This event gave children an opportunity to learn about business and entrepreneurship by selling their own products.

"We talked with the kids about Tiangius, which is ancient markets that were in place with like the Aztecs, with the Mayas, and it's been something that has been going on for centuries and centuries," said Humberto Delgado, the director of youth programs.

Each table featured a team of kids who worked on their businesses.

Each team had a budget of $30 to be creative when selling.

"So, we just gave them the idea. Okay, we're gonna make the market. Each group had to come up with an idea about what the business is going to be about, what they were gonna be able to do," said Delgado.
