La Porte woman sentenced to prison for intent to distribute meth, fentanyl
ABC 57 SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A La Porte woman will spend six years in prison following a guilty plea for Possession with Intent to Distribute 50 Grams or more of Methamphetamine and Fentanyl.
Court documents from the United States Attorney’s Office Northern District of Indiana reveal 26-year-old Monica Del Real was sentenced on April 9.
Following her prison sentence, she'll be on three years of supervised release.
Case documents reveal law enforcement witnessed Del Real driving in La Porte County when they discovered she had active warrants for her arrest.
Officers made a traffic stop on her car, during which a K9 alerted there were drugs in the vehicle.
Police found 136 grams of pure methamphetamine and 12 grams of fentanyl hidden in a compartment near the gas pedal.
