The tribe says it supports the educational journeys of its members and will be donating $500,000 to the college to bolster programs geared toward the citizens of the tribe.
Beginning in the fall of 2017, new programs will be offered involving manufacturing, tribal leadership and development, and the gaming and hospitality industries.
“It means another chapter in the Pokagon Band as we grown in the community. We saw there's a need with our tribal citizens. Many of them want to go technical; many like to work in the machine shop environment,” says John P. Warren, Chairman of Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians.
The tribe will disperse donations of $100,000 over five years.
