WATERVLIET, Mich. -- Lakeland Hospital in Watervliet is getting some much needed upgrades!
Hospital leaders broke ground Tuesday on an $11-million expansion project. The 10,000 square-foot addition includes a new emergency room.
This is the first upgrade to the hospital since it opened in 1978. Leaders say it is worth every penny!
"We conducted a community survey. We found out patients want more privacy, they want larger rooms and they're going to get all of that in this renovation,” said Ray Cruise, CEO of Lakeland Hospital in Watervliet.
Construction is scheduled to wrap up Sept. 27, 2012.
