South Bend City Hall officially open Monday
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Lane closures on Sample Street between Olive and Fellows streets will take effect Monday due to resurfacing.
The Indiana Department of Transportation says traffic may be restricted to one lane in each direction through mid-June.

If you travel near this area, INDOT says you can expect delays and back-ups at times.
Those who live near the area say the work is necessary, "I'm sure there's other roads that need attention, I think they all do. I think they should probably start with the most heavily trafficked areas which would probably be Sample Street and move from there," said Tara Capeles, lives near Sample Street. "I think it's a good idea. The roads are kind of falling apart over here on Sample Street so I think it would be good to replace them to make them safer for the drivers."
The resurfacing of Sample Street is part of an $875,000 investment into the City of South Bend.
