LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- The La Porte County Commissioner, Steve Holifield, held a meeting Saturday to discuss the rumors of a data center being built.
Holifield wanted to clear the misinformation surrounding data centers in La Porte County, emphasizing that no applications have been made to the county yet.
Michigan City and LaPorte City have approved projects, with construction starting soon in Michigan City.
There is a desire for transparency and accurate information from residents, who very opposed to any in the county.
Holifield also mentioned a proposed data center in the Thomas Rose Industrial Park but reiterates that no applications have been submitted to the county's plan commission or building commission.
