LCSO finds large amount of drugs on Ohio man driving on toll road

LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- Around 12:07 on Thursday, a La Porte County Sheriff's deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the 49 mile-marker on the Indiana Toll Road for speeding. During the stop, a large number of narcotics was found and the driver was taken into custody.

"As the traffic stop progressed, probable cause was established that criminal activity was afoot," the La Porte County Sheriff's Office said. "A search of the vehicle completed by deputies yielded a large amount of narcotics."

The driver, identified by police as 26-year-old Kortney D. Moore Jr. of Akron, Ohio, was the only person in the vehicle.

Police say he was arrested for Dealing in Methamphetamine, a Level 2 Felony and he remains at the La Porte County Jail on a $50,005.00 cash bond through La Porte County Circuit Court.

Arrests and criminal charges are mere accusations. Every person is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
