Event information for Pete Buttigieg's special announcement
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Residents and local businesses are preparing for Pete Buttigieg’s special announcement on Sunday.
The formal announcement will happen at the Studebaker 84 building at 635 S. Lafayette Boulevard.
Just after 12:30 p.m., the venue was full and people were turned away. There is a screen for viewing outdoors, but the temperature is 37-degrees outside.
The event will run until 4 p.m.
Special live team coverage will begin at 1:30 p.m. on ABC 57 and the CW 25 and will be live streamed here.
Guests with disabilities and assistive devices are urged to check-in early. Guests are advised to head southbound on South Lafayette Boulevard where limited ADA parking is available in the Studebaker 84 lot. Follow signs to “Table A” where volunteers will provide an escort to ADA accessible seating.
ASL interpretation will be provided for guests.
A fixed amount of shuttles are available to guests with mobility issues. The shuttles will leave from the Leighton Parking Garage to Studebaker Building 84 beginning at 11 a.m. and will resume service to the event’s end.
All other guests are recommended to park at the Wayne Street garage at the intersection of Martin Luther King Boulevard and East Jefferson Boulevard. Parking is also available at the Leighton Parking Garage at the intersection of South Michigan and West Jefferson.
Guests will be subject to bag checks. Prohibited items include but are not limited to sharp objects, liquids, weapons and signs.
