EDWARDSBURG, Mich. -- It's a holiday everyone can get behind - National Donut Day!
While the day seems to be all fun, National Donut Day was actually created with a deeper meaning in mind.
It was coined by The Salvation Army in 1938 in Chicago, honoring its members who served donuts during World War I to soldiers on the front line.
Here locally, we stopped by Divine Dough Co. in Edwardsburg this morning to see how they've been getting ready for the big day.
Make sure you grab a donut today to celebrate!
