Local nonprofit receives $160k grant to expand mental health services, support families in crisis
MGN ELKHART, Ind. -- Reason Enough to Act, a local nonprofit, has received a $160,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Elkhart County to expand mental health services and strengthen programs designed to support families through crisis toward long-term stability.
RETA is based in downtown Elkhart and offers no-cost pregnancy clinic services, mentorship, mental health support, and family resources.
Officials say the grant will increase access to counseling, trauma-informed care, and relationship-based support services.
The nonprofit says this will also provide families with tools, education, and community connections to help address poverty-related barriers.
“We are deeply grateful to the Community Foundation of Elkhart County for investing in the health and future of families in our community,” said Brandie Yoder, CEO of RETA. “This grant allows RETA to expand critical licensed mental health services while also equipping families with practical support and resources to break cycles of poverty and build long-term stability. At RETA, we believe strong families create strong communities, and this partnership helps us continue providing life-affirming, relationship-centered care that empowers families to thrive.”
