SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Pastor and 1st District Councilman Canneth Lee and his wife, Pastor Charisse Lee, passed out turkeys today at the Kingdom Closet clothing store.
Turkeys were provided by the Lees, Faith Alive ministries, councilwoman Karen White, and Issac Hunt.
Lee, Senior Pastor of Kingdom Christian Center, said he wanted the turkey giveaway to be not only for those struggling during the pandemic, but also for those suffering from violence in the South Bend community.
“This is my first year as a city councilman, but as a pastor we do a lot of these type of things throughout the year, and so I thought it would be good to do this as an outreach to our community. Because we know that the holidays can be a rough time for people,” he said.
The team started with 150 turkeys and had given away a third of those in less than 30 minutes.
