On Friday, Police officers in Michiana collected donations for the Law Enforcement Torch Run, a cause that benefits Special Olympics Indiana.
Everyone who donated received a donut, regardless of the amount of the donation.
“It’s a great opportunity for law enforcement to work with a great business,” said Elkhart Police Chief Chris Snyder. “Our Special Olympics are great kids and they deserve every opportunity that every other kid has.”
Donations were collected from 5 a.m. to noon on Friday.
