M-140 bridge repairs near Watervliet begin June 1

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. – Crews will begin construction on the M-140 bridge over the Paw Paw Lake outlet beginning June 1, the Michigan Department of Transportation announced.

The $800,000 project includes rebuilding the bridge deck and repairing the bridge’s piers and abutments.

During construction, the bridge will be closed and traffic will be detoured onto Hagar Shore Road, 70th Street, and Red Arrow Highway.

Work will be ongoing through October 30.
