Malicious destruction of property at Lake Cora Hills Golf Club

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. -- The Van Buren County Sheriff's Office reported a malicious destruction of property incident Monday after a vehicle allegedly drove onto the green at the Lake Cora Hills Golf Club around 3 a.m., damaging the green.

According to the sheriff, deputies responded to the golf club and found that an unknown vehicle drove onto the golf course and caused significant damage to the number 10 green.

Surveillance video from the golf club showed a vehicle that the deputies said was possibly a white pickup truck.

In the video, the vehicle turned north onto C.R. 671 from Red Arrow Highway before entering the property, driving onto the course and damaging the green around 3 a.m.

The property owner and groundskeeping staff are evaluating the damage, and the green is currently unusable during repairs. Preliminary estimates put repair costs between $15,000 and $40,000.
