Mallory proves a double sport star

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- A familiar face at Notre Dame is making a switch from the court to the turf.

Brittany Mallory is the newest member of the Women's Lacrosse Team.

Already this year, she helped take the Women's Basketball team to the National Championship Game.

Mallory told us that when she was younger, she picked up lacrosse after she became bored with softball.

"Just being able to get the chance this year is kind of a dream come true. I've always wanted to get back out on the lacrosse field to have coach come and say,  'Hey, we want you to join, you know, you could help us out'  -- it just really made my fifth year," said Mallory.

Mallory makes her home debut Wednesday afternoon. The game is at 2 p.m.
