Man accused of pointing gun at ex-wife, her date

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A man is accused of pointing a gun at his ex-wife and her date and entering her home without permission, according to court records.

On November 29, South Bend Police responded to a home for a domestic disturbance. Officers were advised the suspect was armed with a handgun and had pointed it at the female victim.

Family members told police the victim had been on a date when her ex-husband, Sergio Dickerson Brown, tried to run them off the road, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Officers located Dickerson Brown down the street and detained him.

Dickerson Brown told officers he was there to get his vehicle but family members were preventing him from taking it. Later he told police he had gone there to see his son, according to reports.

Dickerson Brown said he went into the female victim's home knowing the victim wasn't there using a security code he knew from when he lived there, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Dickerson Brown told police he accidentally took the security key fob instead of the car key fob, but when he tried to re-enter the home to get the correct key fob, family members of the victim prevented him from entering, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Dickerson Brown also admitted to having a handgun with him, which police seized, reports said.

Police spoke with the victim and her date separately.

They each told police after the male victim picked up the female victim, they saw Dickerson Brown driving behind them. Several times Dickerson Brown tried to run them off the road and block them in, according to the probable cause affidavit.

At one point when they were blocked in, Dickerson Brown pointed a handgun at the victims, reports said.

After losing Dickerson Brown, the victims returned to the woman's home.

The female victim told police she did not give Dickerson Brown permission to enter her home. She said the car was hers and was awarded to her in the divorce, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Dickerson Brown has been charged with two counts of pointing a firearm, residential entry and theft.
