Man arrested after allegedly shooting at vehicles, objects in Calvin Township

CASS COUNTY, Mich. - A man was arrested after he allegedly shot at random vehicles and objects at an intersection in Calvin Township on Tuesday, the Cass County Sheriff's Office announced.

At 8:45 a.m., deputies responded to a shooting report at the intersection of Calvin Center Road and Brownsville Street.

According to the investigation, a 46-year-old Calvin Township man stopped his vehicle at the intersection, got out of the vehicle, and began shooting at vehicles and objects in the area.

Witnesses told dispatch the man got back into his vehicle and headed north on Calvin Center Road.

Deputies eventually found the vehicle and suspect at a store in Vandalia.

The suspect allegedly drew his gun on deputies when he got out of the vehicle.

After a short confrontation, the man was taken into custody.

The suspect's name is being withheld pending arraignment.
