Man hospitalized following rollover crash in North Liberty

NORTH LIBERTY, Ind. -- An SUV rollover crash landed one man in the hospital.

It happened around 2 a.m. Wednesday in North Liberty on State Road 23 and Lath Trail. According to police, the SUV veered off of a curve and crashed in a group of trees.

They believe he was speeding down the road and couldn't follow the curved area of State Road 23 and then flipped his vehicle. He was transported to Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police believe since the ground where he landed was wet, it probably helped absorb some of the impact.

The road was closed for over an hour and half so police could clear the area and the vehicle could be towed out of the woods.

Police said there have been accidents in that section of road in the past. A person died in a crash in the same location a few weeks ago.
