Man pleads guilty in plot to kidnap Michigan Governor Whitmer

One of four defendants in a plot to kidnap and assassinate Michigan Governor Whitmer pled guilty today to one count of Providing Material Support for a Terroristic Act.

40-year-old Shawn Fix faces a possible 20-year sentence for the crime. He'll be sentenced after the trial of the other three defendants.

Investigators say Fix and the other defendants, Eric Molitor, Michael Null and William Null, planned to kidnap the governor from her personal cottage in Antrim County, Mich. and then kill her.

The trial for the other three defendants in the case is scheduled for August 21, 2023.
