Man sentenced to 25 years for role in Jamal Smith's death

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. - A man was sentenced to 25 years for his role in the shooting death of 35-year-old Jamal Smith in April 2022.

On Thursday, Ralph Richardson pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter as part of a plea agreement.

As part of that agreement, his murder charge was dismissed.

Richardson was sentenced to 25 years at the Indiana Department of Correction and received 341 days of jail credit.
