Man sentenced to over 19 years in shooting that killed Andrew Blankenship Sr.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Quincy Lunford, the man accused of reckless homicide and armed robbery in a 2021 shooting on West Marion Street, was sentenced to over 19 years for his involvement in the incident, according to case documents.

In January, a jury found 21-year-old Lunford guilty for his role in the death of 39-year-old Andrew Blankenship.

Blankenship was shot in the 500 block of W. Marion St. on January 2, 2021, and died from his injuries on January 6.

On February 13, Lunford was sentenced to 10 years and 182 days at the Indiana Department of Correction for the charge of reckless homicide. This sentence was enhanced three years, from seven and a half years, for a firearm enhancement.

Lunford was sentenced to nine years at the Indiana Department of Correction for the charge of armed robbery.

The sentences will be served consecutively.
