Man who allegedly pointed a gun at cars and houses arraigned
THREE RIVERS, Mich. -- A man who allegedly pointed a gun at cars and houses last has been arraigned on one count of carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent. The incident caused an elementary school to go on lockdown.
On Thursday, June 7 at 10:45 a.m., Three Rivers Police were dispatched to N. Main Street and Portage for reports a man was walking with a gun in his hand.
Officers went to the area but were unable to locate the subject.
Around 12:15 p.m., dispatch received several calls about a man who was allegedly waving a firearm around and pointing it at cars and houses in the area of Kelsey and East streets.
During the search for the subject, Hoppin Elementary School was on lockdown because the subject was approximately a block away from the school
Officers located the subject with the firearm and took him into custody.
The suspect, 30-year-old Kyle Longacre, was arraigned on one count of carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent and habitual offender fourth offense.
